Well we have made it to our next adventure.
We left the Sunshine Coast on wednesday, arrived in Sydney a couple of hours later. Spent some good time with Ron and Tiemen, first had a lovely Thai lunch. walked through the botanical gardens to the harbour bridge. there we did a pilon walk and climbed the 200 steps to the top. view was great of course. drink in a local pub and trained it back to Rons hotel.caught a shuttle bus to the airport and before we knew it we were on the flight to Samoa. Only took 5 and a bit hours, the flight was not comfortable, lots of turbulance and uncomfortable seats. fortunately the flight was not full so aad and i could stretch out and try to sleep on 3 seats.
weird to have 2 days of the 26th october. how do we set our cameras?
Arriving here still dark so not much of an first impression, although it was great to feel the warmth again, very tropical and muggy. while waiting for our luggage a small band of 4 men sang to us it was quite something so early in the morning.
Took a taxi to a hotel and luckly there was still one fale over for us, so after breakfast of tropical fruits, toast and jam we went to bed for a couple of hours and woke up samoan time 2 pm. we had slept for about 6 hours. didn't notice a thing. Took a dip in the pool and we were human again. It was a lovely sunny day so sunbathing was part of the order.Walked into town and back. Streets very dirty and dangerous to walk on, uneven paths or no paths. The samoans are very clean and friendly but the streets have a lot of litter on them and certainly in need of repair.
Last night had dinner in the local italian was very good food and cheap.
And to prove that it is the wet season it started raining and hard at that. the whole night through. Our fale stayed dry although it is very humid inside with the "curtains" down. as soon as i can photos will be sent.
today the colourful local markets, (reminds me very much of PNG) lava lavas and Aad t shirts bought and walked a historic trail.
tomorrow hire a car and drive to the southwest point of samoa. want to stay there for 2 nights in a fale right on the beach. hope the weather is beter there.
Then onto the other island for a few days. will tell more about that when it happens. We have no phone here although my dutch phone number does work so ICE you can always sms me.
Love to all en groetjes J&A

Hey Joyce and Aad,
So great to hear your news - it's too quiet here and we are trying to settle back into school and work after the great week in Coolum.
Travel safe and have fun and be good, Aad!
